Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε, μεταξύ των άλλων, δύο δόγηδες της Βενετίας (15ος αι.) και δύο δούκες της Κρήτης (16ος αι.). Το εικονιζόμενο οικόσημο, συνοδευόμενο από τη χρονολογία 1696, διακοσμεί ένα πυροβόλο που βρίσκεται στο κανονοστάσιο της πόλης του Ναυπλίου. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το Ναύπλιο διετέλεσε υπό βενετική κυριαρχία για δύο περιόδους, από το 1388 έως το 1540 και από το 1686 έως το 1715.

Historical Notice: Venetian patrician family, including two doges of Venice (15th c.) and two dukes of Crete (16th c.). This particular coat-of-arms, dated 1696, decorates the barrel of a cannon, part of a battery positioned over the sea, at the city of Nafplio. It was probably used during the Turkish�Venetian War of 1684�1699. Nafplio was under Venetian rule during two periods, from 1388 to 1540 and from 1686 to 1715.
