Ταύτιση φορέα του οικόσημου: Fabrizio del Carretto, Μέγας Μάγιστρος (1513-1521) Τάγματος του Οσπιταλίου του Αγίου Ιωάννου της Ιερουσαλήμ
Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Ιταλικός φεουδαρχικός οίκος από την Λιγγουρία (ΒΑ Ιταλία), που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων 14 ιππότες και αξιωματούχους του Τάγματος του Οσπιταλίου του Αγίου Ιωάννου της Ιερουσαλήμ, καρδινάλιους της Καθολικής Εκκλησίας και αξιωματούχους της Αγίας Ρωμαϊκής Αυτοκρατορίας.[ + ]
Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Ιταλικός φεουδαρχικός οίκος από την Λιγγουρία (ΒΑ Ιταλία), που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων 14 ιππότες και αξιωματούχους του Τάγματος του Οσπιταλίου του Αγίου Ιωάννου της Ιερουσαλήμ, καρδινάλιους της Καθολικής Εκκλησίας και αξιωματούχους της Αγίας Ρωμαϊκής Αυτοκρατορίας. Ο εικονιζόμενος θυρεός του Μεγάλου Μαγίστρου Fabrizio del Carretto είναι τετραγωνισμένος, συνδυάζοντας το προσωπικό του οικόσημο (δεύτερο και τρίτο τετράγωνο) με τον εμβληματικό σταυρό του Τάγματος (πρώτο και τέταρτο τετράγωνο). Η παρουσία τού φέροντος το οικόσημο αετού είναι αρκετά σπάνια. Η ταύτιση του κτιρίου με το κατάλυμα της Ιταλίας εξακολουθεί να αμφισβητείται από ορισμένους μελετητές.

Identification of the bearer: Fabrizio del Carretto, Grand Master (1513-1521) of the Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem

Historical Notice: Italian feudal house from Liguria (NW Italy), including 14 knights and officials of the Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem, cardinals of the Catholic Church and officials of the Holy Roman Empire. The arms of the Grand Master, Fabrizio del Carretto, presented here (second and third quarters), are combined with the cross (first and fourth quarters), emblem of the Order. The presence of the eagle bearing the shield is quite uncommon.The identification of the building as that of the Inn of the Italian Tongue is still disputed by certain scholars.
