Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων έναν πατριάρχη της Βενετίας (15ος αι.) και δύο δούκες της Κρήτης (13ος και 14ος αι.). Κλάδοι της οικογένειας εγκαταστάθηκαν ως φεουδάρχες στην Κρήτη από τον 13ο αιώνα, στη συνέχεια εξουσίασαν για ένα μικρό διάστημα τα νησιά Σαντορίνη και Θηρασία, ενώ αργότερα απέκτησαν και φέουδα στη Νάξο.
Historical Notice: Venetian patrician house, including a partiarch of Venice (15th c.) and two dukes of Crete (13th, 14th and 15th c.). A branch of the same family was established in Crete (13th c.) and later ruled for a while the islands of Santorini and Therasia, while possessing feuds in Naxos as well. This particular coat-of-arms belongs to a member of that family.
