Identification of the bearer: Lorenzo Venier, Venetian castellan of Methoni (1410-1411)
Historical Notice: Venetian patrician house, including three doges of Venice (14th and 16th c.) and six dukes of Crete (15th, 16th and 17th c.). This particular coat-of-arms, almost destroyed today, belongs to the castellan of Methoni Lorenzo Venier. Methoni was under Venetian rule during two periods, from 1206 to 1500 and from 1686 to 1715.
