Η οικογένεια Μαυρίκου είναι μια από τις παλιότερες οικογένειες παραδοσιακών ναυπηγών του νησιού. Στο ναυπηγείο τους στον ταρσανά δούλεψαν τέσσερις γενιές ναυπηγών.
